“Getting Familiar with Apple Products” is a training that is developed on request and now made available to others as well. It’s a quick way for support staff to get some experience with Apple products. In one day they’ll get to configure but an OS X system and an iPad. This helps them to understand the differences between Windows and Apple’s products and better do their job in a BYOD environment where there is no official support for Apple products.

  • Support staff the occasionally has to support users with BYOD Apple products who have never worked with Apple Products

  • Configure an OS X machine from scratch getting the same experience as the user had
  • What an Apple ID is and how to manage the Apple ID
  • The various user roles on an OS X system
  • The default folders of a user
  • How to (re-) install OS X from the recovery partition
  • Installing and removing Applications
  • Enabling disk encryption on configured systems
  • Network configuration, including locations
  • Using the firewall
  • Privacy Settings
  • Configuration of iOS devices
  • Install and removing Apps from an iOS device
  • How to use Airplay on an iOS device
  • Configuring email on both OS X and iOS and understanding the differences between these two

Who should attend

  • Support staff with no experience that have to provide basic support on Apple products and currently are feeling lost when confronted with such product
